Building modern themed entertainment attraction is complex. Good design integration is the difference between guests simply enjoying a ride and experiencing a new world.
Dozens of disciplines and trades must work together to meet high expectations, and integrated design unites these pieces to provide a seamless guest experience.

Visualization & Simulation
So, we’ve got great integrated design on the project, but understanding how guests, ride systems, and mechanical components flow through a space is tricky and often it is too complex to explore in just one dimension or image.
Our comprehensive, dynamic visualizations for rides, attractions, shows, and experiences unite the myriad pieces into the big picture-- from how it will work to how it will be experienced-- allowing design choices, configurations, and strategies to be vigorously tested and validated.
Our visualizations and simulations help the entire team understand what’s going on and facilitate their work so they can make the best decisions.

Pre-Programming
After the pieces are fitted together, we have to make them do everything we planned. Time in the field is valuable, and schedules are short, so pre-programing allows projects to stay ahead of the curve.
In this phase, we anticipate how all the systems of an attraction will operate together, and orchestrate their functions into a unified whole, by combining visualization techniques with real-world data. Animation data can be exported to motion controllers, ride-system profiles can be scrutinized by the ride vendor, and POV timing profiles can be utilized by the media production team.
Pre-Programming tools help keep all teams on the same page through the end of the project, so they can create unified attraction experiences.

Rob Palmer
Rob Palmer has been involved in Themed Entertainment projects from nearly every vantage point including Producer, Creative Director, and Senior Technical Director. Rob has worked on projects, and lived on-site, across Asia, Europe, and North America, pre-concept through handover. He began his career in research and development, bringing consumer and industrial products to market, developing a deep understanding of the design and manufacturing processes. This diverse experience provides Rob with an ability to anticipate problems, drive innovative solutions, and improve team communication.
Most recently, Rob launched Abstract Concepts Workshop, a consultancy offering Integrated Design, Visualization & Simulation and Pre-Programming services. Through ACW, Rob assists teams in unifying the creative vision with technical reality, while keeping the guest’s perspective in focus.
